Topic You may choose any topic that that relates stable isotope
studies with

Outline (25
points) You must submit an outline of the
topic for your term paper. This
submission should occur as a text document submission to Jim Ehleringer. The outline should provide a title and
an outline of the topic and contents for your paper. This outline should be in bulleted or outline format and
only needs to be long enough to sufficiently define your topic in a manner that
is clear to the teaching assistant and instructor. There is no deadline for this outline, other than it must be
completed and approved in advance of the PowerPoint presentation.
PowerPoint presentation (50 points; required; submitted
no later than December 5)
- a
presentation to all class members taking place December 5 and 7
- an
informative presentation of the topic with time for questions afterward
- technical
issues - no font smaller than size 16; no file larger than 5 MB
- you
may submit your presentation at any time through the file-upload website
Term paper (100
points; must be submitted no later than
December 7); for hints on contents and styles click here
- a
synthesis of any topic that you choose and get approved
- format
not specified, but must include text, figures/tables, and references
- paper
is to be submitted as a PDF file through drop off location
- minimum
5 pages total length, preferably 1.5 spacing and Times New Roman 12
- maximum
7 pages total length
- minimum
3 figures or tables (must also include figure captions or table
description)
- minimum
10 literature references from non-web sources
- you
must submit your term paper through the file-upload website
