While the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has a significant impact on the climate and photosynthetic rate of plants, it is not the primary reservoir for carbon on the surface of this planet. In today's lecture, we will discuss the global carbon cycle, incorporating an understanding of the different stocks of carbon on land, in the ocean, and in the atmosphere, with an appreciation of the fluxes between the different pools. |
